INTRODUCTION
Mr Sanjeev Ganesh Naik like his father Mr Ganesh Naik was quite keen on the serving the masses and as providence would have it became the first Mayor of the satellite City of Navi Mumbai.
He was one of the youngest Mayor in the world/India at the age of 23.
He is the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Member of the 15th Lok Sabha from Thane (Lok Sabha constituency) in Maharashtra state, elected in the Indian general election, 2009.
He is also professionally associated with NCP both in his personal capacity as well as political capacity.
Sri Sanjeev Naik always identified himself with the issues which affected the common man and all his efforts were always directed to ensure that the city of Navi Mumbai truly becomes a city of the 21st century.
HIS STRENTH
Sanjeev Naik’s strength lies in his stature as a mass leader since his advent in politics. Whether in or out of power has always championed the cause of the common man. This has endeared him to all segments of the Cong NCP party as well.
Even after becoming the mayor of NMMC makes it a point to address all the problems are brought before his directly by people, cutting through bureaucratic hurdles, every day.
His Philosophy of life
He was instrumental and ensured the overall growth of the city in all its aspects. His soft corner for women leads him to institute the Mahila and Balvikas Kalyan Yojana which benefitted the underprivileged women in the city towards gainful employment.
Sanjeev Naik strongly believes that the human life is a boon provided by the Almighty to share on blessings with others, while serving less privileged human beings.

His Achievements
1)Pioneering the cause of Polio Pulse through the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
2)Starting the Morbe Dam water Project which promised to provide 24 hours water to this satellite city.
3)Under his tenure the campaign for a clean and green Navi Mumbai was initiated and his efforts were appreciated when the municipal corporation of Navi Mumbai was awarded the Best City for cleanliness in Maharashtra.
4)A 150-bedded municipal hospital was established in Navi Mumabi which had all the facilities including operation theatres, Burns, ward, Blood Bank etc.
5)He also ensured that that sanitation is adequate in a growing city and was instrumental in numerous toilets in various nodes of Navi Mumbai.
6)It was during his tenure that the beautification of Public Gardens was undertaking to ensure that the city was always green and pollution free. This was followed by many Landmark structures that were built in numerous roads which added to the beauty of the city.
7)In the field of education he ensured that the top rankers in standard tenth and twelth were honored. Not only the students but the teachers who groomed the students were also recognized by instituting an award for the best teacher.
8)With an expenditure of Rs. 91 lakhs, NMMC has built this advanced one floored school building at Turbhe stores. The school includes 19 classes out of which 17 are for classrooms, one for staff room and one for a computer lab. The municipal school Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar School No. 20 at Turbhe was inaugurated at the hands of Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik.

He was also fond of sports and it was under his leadership that the Navi Mumbai well built Body Trophy was instituted.

Erected railings, constructed of footpaths, widened the roads thereby facilitated safety of the children, women and senior citizens in high traffic zones.
Provided free housing for the people living below the poverty line under 'Valmiki Ambedkar Awaaz Yojna'.
My vision for a better society includes enhancing the life of the senior citizens. I assisted in getting financial aid to thousands of senior citizens under 'Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojna' and 'Shravanbai Yojna'.
It was noticed that Bhandup and surrounding areas had always lacked a 'state-of-the-art' maternity hospital, and hence fulfilled the need, by modernization of Savitribai Phule Maternity Home.
Other amenities and facilities that were desired by the people of my constituency like joggers park, fully equipped ambulances, community halls, basic sanitation facilities, infrastructure, redevelopment of the dilapidated properties damaged by natural calamities etc., were fulfilled with in a short span of my tenure as an MLA.
His Motto
Youth Affairs: India, with a population of over 100 crores has more than 50 crores youths. The Youth is one of our country's greatest resources. I believe great impetus must be put in this area of youth development and I intend to make this of prime importance in the north east constituency. I will initiate youth centered development programs to ensure youth empowerment and education.
Infrastructure Development: The first step towards the bettering the lives of the citizens of the North-East district will be refining infrastructure within our area. This is very high on the agenda of my team. An elaborate plan will be sketched with priorities and deadlines. Under the umbrella of infrastructure development plan, we shall look into improving roads, water supply, drainage, sanitation, health-care and transport.
Transportation: Keeping in mind the difficulties faced by the common man in commuting in peak hours, I will propose to the railways to ply only15 rakes local trains as to reduce over-crowding. I will also propose round the clock public transport service with in our constituency. Considering the high numbers of people travel to Gujrat from our constituency we shall propose few trains to ply from the Central Railway. I shall also propose halting of Konkan bound trains at Bhandup Station. I shall also strongly push for Mulund – CST – Mulund locals during peak hours.
Forest Land Regularization: I will initiate concrete discussions with Central Executive Committee to regularize the status of the properties of over 4 lac people who are living in the forest land area.
Electricity: I will take up the matter strongly with the concerned departments and resolve the current load shedding problems by either proposing to increase the current generation capacity or by sourcing alternative distributor for power.
Up-gradation of Tenements: A large percentage of the population in our area still lives in below average conditions. These areas often referred to as slums, tenements, hutments, etc., need special attention and it will be one of my prime duties as your representatives to address issues relating to such areas. These issues include better housing, water supply, drainage, sanitation, internal roads & restoration of dwelling places with permanent solution.
Health and Hygiene: My experiment of having an ambulance service was well accepted and has been highly successful. Taking this forward, I will initiate a plan to have well-equipped ambulances at strategic locations like outside of railway stations and other densely populated areas. I also propose to start “Mobile Hospital/ICU†service for poor people of our constituency. I will initiate measures and educate people for basic civic sense & work towards generating a cleaner and a greener environment.
Education: I will propose a state-of-the-art medical college within our constituency at E.S.I.E.S Hospital - Mulund and improve the current infrastructure in all the schools and colleges in our constituency.
Sports and Recreation: I believe that sports and extra-curricular activities needs to be taken more seriously. A special appeal will go out to eminent sportsmen, artists and other talented people of the North-East constituency to contribute in any possible way towards the development of such activities in our area. I will initiate measures to improve sporting and other facilities and make them more accessible to the society. I will also ensure that a campaign is launched to protect the open playgrounds of our constituency.
Senior Citizens Welfare: Increase measures to ensure safety and well being of the senior citizens and also propose setting up of recreation halls with modern amenities exclusively for senior citizens.
Calamities & Disaster Management: I will initiate training programs in societies and schools to educate on disaster management. I shall propose for Disaster Management Cells and vehicles to be sanctioned at strategic location and setup round the clock helpline centres in our constituency.
Peace and Communal Harmony: I will ensure public-police partnership for security and harmony among various communities.
